Women’s movement story re-ignites feminist spark
Re: "Resurrecting the women’s movement: Calgary feminists say the battle for equal rights isn’t over yet," by Amy Steele, Cover, August 4-10, 2005.

I suspect that there were many Calgarian women and men like me who were extremely impressed and grateful for Amy Steele's article on the women's movement in Alberta (or lack thereof). As a young activist feminist I felt the need to thank Amy and Fast Forward for running this wicked article. It was so thoroughly researched and every point was right on. I was excited to see that not only was the cover dedicated to raising readers' awareness about this issue, but also a three page article featuring Albertan feminists' words about the severely depleted feminist movement.

This strong article re-ignited my feminist spark, which has been dying out because I don't know where to turn to keep it burning. Rebick thinks young feminists need to decide what to do next. Sure there are things we can do on our own – I work with teenage prostitutes and at a women's crisis shelter – but what can we do together? What can we do next?

As the cover says, the battle for equal rights (sure as hell) isn't over.
