Earth Intruders (Single)
One Little Indian

· The first hint at what might be found on the highly anticipated, tightly-guarded Volta album.

This Internet single is garnering lots of attention. The Guardian was among the first to offer praise alongside an army of bloggernauts and music pundits. According to the Icelandic queen of avant-pop, the song lyrics reflect chaotic mental images she gathered from a trip to Indonesia, in addition to a vivid dream she had where she imagined the world’s poor uprising against the American establishment. The synth-laden call to arms was co-produced by the prolific Timbaland, who is responsible for crafting Nelly Furtado’s and Justin Timberlake’s latest radio hits. The track was then reworked by Konono N°1, a Congolese percussion collective, thus giving a heavy syncopation to the already prominent beats. The result may be Björk’s catchiest material to date.

Björk’s next album, Volta, will be released in early May, immediately following her appearance at the Coachella music festival in Indio, CA. In the meantime, you can find "Earth Intruders" on various online sources including Youtube.com and iTunes.
